Emergency Preparedness

The U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services Office for the District of Montana has contingency plans in place in the event of a natural or man-made emergency (e.g., earthquakes, floods, pandemic, long term power outage). In case of a catastrophic event resulting in temporary closure of one of our government buildings, information will be posted on this site with specific reporting instructions.

For individuals on supervision, it is your responsibility to promptly advise your U.S. Probation Officer of your safety and provide your change of address/contact information if your home is destroyed and/or you are displaced from your residence as a result of a natural or man-made disaster.

If you are on special supervision (location monitoring, sex offender), you should have an Emergency Contingency Plan on file with the Probation Office.  In the event of an emergency or disaster that either requires immediate relocation or affects location monitoring, it is your responsibility to act in accordance with the plan AND notify your U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services Office by phone immediately.  The notice should include your location, adddress, and phone number.
